OVERVIEW

At Collect African Art, we take great care in packaging and shipping every piece. Due to the nature of original artwork, cultural artifacts, and collectibles, our return and refund window is limited. Please read this policy carefully before completing your purchase.

SCOPE OF THIS POLICY

This Return & Refund Policy applies to confirmed purchases only — orders that have been formally accepted by Collect African Art and for which payment has been received.

If you have submitted an enquiry form for a work available by enquiry (as described in Section 3A of our Terms of Service), that submission does not constitute a purchase. No return or refund rights arise from an enquiry submission. This policy becomes applicable only once a formal order has been confirmed in writing by Collect African Art and payment has been completed.

REPORTING DAMAGE OR DEFECTS

You must inspect your order immediately upon delivery. Any damage, defects, or discrepancies must be reported to us within 72 hours of signing for delivery.

To report an issue, please visit www.collectafrican.art and submit an enquiry via the contact form. You will need to include:

A description of the damage or defect
Photographic evidence from multiple angles
Your order number and tracking number
Delivery confirmation details

Claims submitted after 72 hours of delivery will not be accepted.

If the outer packaging appears damaged when it arrives, please note this on the delivery receipt and photograph it before opening. Failure to do so may affect your ability to claim for concealed damage.

RETURNS

If you wish to return an item, you must contact us within 72 hours of signing for delivery via the contact form at www.collectafrican.art.

Items must be:

In the same condition as delivered
Returned in the original packaging

Items returned in damaged or altered condition are not eligible for a refund.

RETURN SHIPPING

You are responsible for all return shipping costs to Ghana. We will provide a return shipping address once your return request has been approved.

We strongly recommend you insure your return shipment at your own expense. Collect African Art is not liable for loss or damage to items during return transit.

REFUNDS

Refunds are assessed once the returned item has been received and inspected. If approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method.

Please note that the following are not eligible for a refund:

Items reported after the 72-hour window
Items returned in damaged or altered condition
Shipments that were undeliverable due to an incorrect address, refusal of delivery, or non-payment of customs duties
Shipments rejected, seized, or destroyed by customs authorities

CUSTOMS & DUTIES

Import duties, taxes, and customs fees are your responsibility as the buyer. We are not responsible for delays, seizures, or rejections by customs authorities, and these situations do not qualify for a refund.

INSURANCE

All items valued at $1,000 USD or more are automatically insured by Collect African Art against loss or damage during transit at no extra cost.

For items valued below $1,000 USD, optional additional insurance coverage may be requested prior to purchase. To arrange additional insurance, contact us via the contact form at www.collectafrican.art before placing your order. We will provide a quote and confirm availability before the order is processed. If additional insurance is not arranged prior to dispatch, standard carrier liability limits apply.
